Build Quality and Design

Lost Vape Centaurus DNA 250C ModAt first glance, it is very tough to distinguish between it and the Paranormal. They are a near-identical bar with a few minor changes. While Paranormal featured an undesirable plastic decorative piece under the 510, slightly sharper angles, and many new colors and material options, this product lacks such features.

Instead, it features stainless steel, gunmetal, and black chassis. The same applies to panels, which come in various versions of carbon fiber, stabilized wood, and abalone shell. Grip options are diverse; they include different ostrich, crocodile, and cowhide. Plenty of variety on offer that is for sure!

The rounded rear, leather-clad assembly perfectly fits in your thumb webbing. This feature makes the tool a perfect index trigger device. Thanks to the stainless steel construction of the chassis make, the Centaurus is one sturdy device.

As for the device, the front features typical DNA with a large color screen, a squishy fire button, and two adjustment buttons. There is a menu/confirm switch as well. The controls are also stainless steel. As a result, you will feel a little resistance when you push them.

Unlike the previous models like Paranormal, Vape has kept the hatch and reinforced the hinges to make the entire assembly stronger. Sure, the door can be challenging to close, but once it’s latched in, it stays closed.

Performance

Let us shift our focus towards the performance of the Lost Vape Centaurus DNA 250C. Well, it performs just like you would expect it to be, with ample power and temperature control! That’s what we all like.

Lost Vape Centaurus DNA 250C Mod

Powered by dual 18650 batteries, the Centaurus DNA 250C is a powerhouse that runs from 1W-200W. The most modern mods have made significant strides to ensure fast and accurate power. But do they come close to the DNA mod in terms of temperature control? Absolutely not! With Replay Mode you can take a puff, and if you like it, you can press the save button, and the DNA board will play that hit every single time in the future! Even reading that sounds magical!

Customizability is another strong forte of this device. We love the choice to change the theme of the gadget. One can do that either by downloading a pre-made one or by designing the theme. Other great options are full diagnostics of your device, from your coils’ ambient temperature to a history of all your previous puffs. One can even monitor battery performance in real-time. Cool, right?

Battery connection

The gate for the dual batteries swings open and is spring-loaded. Hence, you can easily slide the clip on the bottom, which will flip the door open for you. Sure, it is a little rigid. However, that’s a good thing, considering how many devices with these sorts of doors end up with hinge and catch issues.

The battery terminals extend to a circuit behind the battery swing door and provide two additional connection points for the DNA board. This clever little manipulation has allowed Lost Vape to keep everything to do with battery connections in one area.

The top terminals present inside the device are also spring-loaded, so slight resistance. Don’t worry; there will be a cushioning effect when you put batteries in and close the door. A little shock absorption adds to the overall quality feel and makes sure most batteries operate without any glitch.

Charging

We recommend you charge your batteries with an external battery charger to avoid damaging the USB port in the long run. But the on-board charging works well, courtesy of its cell-by-cell battery monitoring. The integrated 2A balance charger helps as well.

The DNA 250C board’s power bank function is another remarkable trait of this device. The micro USB to female USB connector lets you plug your mobile phone charging cable. That means you can charge your phone from the existing power in the cells.

Ease of use

The device is made from stainless steel; it’s weighty. Still, it is not a very heavy device to hold.

The smooth squidgy leather section makes the device nice and comfortable to hold. It’s ideal and certainly not too big; we think the company has done an excellent job size-wise.

It serves as an excellent finger firing device, leaving the soft leather section nestled within the skin between your thumb and index finger. Firing with the thumb is a preferred choice for many. It is because the approach allows all of the fingers can wrap comfortably around the leather section of the device that way. Overall, this is a lovely, convenient device to hold and handle.

The attention to the small details adds more to this device’s value.

Adding an inverted groove to either side of the device’s front means that no matter how you hold the device, your hand/fingers aren’t pressing around a sharp corner. All done just to make you more comfortable!

Bottom line

That would be all for now. We wish we could have gone on a bit more, but the limitations of time and space force us to wrap up this piece here. We know that this isn’t a cheap device that we have just reviewed; the price tag is a little higher than average. But the value that you get with it is fantastic.

This solidly built device looks amazing and features one of the best chipsets. The massive customizability is worth the price of this device. We are pretty sure that this mod will keep you happy for many years!
